Children are one of the most vulnerable members of society and specially-abled children face even greater risks of discrimination and neglect – sometimes even abandoned by their own families. In India, a nation of about 1.42 billion people, approximately 2.68 million children live with disabilities. Out of them, 1.5 million children are severely impacted and require immediate care and intervention.  

Recognizing the dire need to address this challenge, the Care and Love Foundation was established in 2014 to provide dedicated support to children suffering from autism, ADHD, physical and intellectual disabilities. On 17^th November 2024, the Foundation achieved yet another milestone by inaugurating a new foster home exclusively for girl children with acute physical and mental disabilities.

Located in Vizag, India, this new facility now cares for 40 specially-abled girl children who need constant care, support, and health-monitoring round-the-clock.

A Vision Shared by the Pennam Foundation

Inspired by the organization’s vision, the Pennam Foundation joined hands with Care & Love to extend its unwavering support to this meaningful cause which will have a great impact. 

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Sudhakar Pennam, the driving force behind the Pennam Foundation and a stalwart in philanthropic initiatives. Deeply moved by compassion for the children, and the dedication of the staff, he pledged ongoing support for Care & Love’s mission.

The event featured various dignitaries, and the lively performances by the children added warmth, joy, and vibrance to the occasion. Though most of the children couldn’t express themselves verbally, their gestures of gratitude touched everyone.
