Motivation

PENNAM FOUNDATION planned to DISTRIBUTE a e-Sign Meta a learning app for Children with Hearing Impaired;  designed  with a vision  of “an equal education for children” and making a learning approach of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) accessible to deaf students.  In particular, Goal-4 of the SDGs and Article 17 of the Indian Constitution, which calls for quality education for all children regardless of gender and disability, acted as inspiration to PENNAM FOUNDATION.

Activities

To provide an e-learning app to Students with Hearing-Impaired, so that they can gain equity in education and instill confidence in becoming productive members of society.
To ensure that hearing-impaired students can access education through the technology in the same way as other students.
To encourage hearing-impaired students to perform better on exams and get more marks by teaching them subject matter in Indian Sign Language.
To support Students with Hearing Impairment to promote their overall development through engaging eye-catching videos with Sign Language in academic subjects.
In particular, to provides academic basic skills (3R) of reading, writing, and arithmetic by e-learning application (e-Sign Meta).
To improve students demonstrate knowledge by understanding of linguistic (English and sign language) skills, within and across community.

Impact

This e-learning app offers easily understandable instruction to deaf children who cannot receive special education due to the extremely low resources available in our country for special education and children with special needs.
 Laying a foundation for a new era for Hearing Impaired students to learning continuously, enable them easily interact with one another, and easily communicate with teachers by integrating sign language into an effective eLearning platform.
Reach a universal education program by enabling deaf students to become knowledge owners
Students with Hearing Impaired gain liberty from the conventional education approach and overcome the stigma of disability.
Laying a foundation for a new era for Hearing Impaired students to learning continuously, enable them easily interact with one another, and easily communicate with teachers by integrating sign language into an effective e-Learning platform.
This e-learning app is useful for youth who are preparing for competitive and career exams, even if they are not students of the same classes.
An educated person can distinguish between good and bad and right from wrong.
Helps to involve teachers and parents in the learning process to solve the doubts of the students.
