THE FIRST 180 DAYS OF CULTIVATING GENEROSITY.

img

The past six months have been a journey of immense satisfaction for all of us at Pennam Foundation. We started fulfilling various causes with a simple vision – “cultivating generosity”. We envisioned an organized way of making a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

At this juncture, we are happy to share that we have directly impacted individuals and supported our peers in a foundation-to-foundation (F2F) model. It looks like we coined the term F2F, at least in the area of social causes 🙂

Here are the highlights of our operations in each area we focus:

EDUCATION

Bright youngsters are out there with the potential to succeed yet deprived of access to education. Added to it, the cost of education always goes upwards, calling for scholarships and financial aid.

We have provided financial aid for child education to the governing body of the Shirdi Saibaba temple– Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Trust, which has a track record of providng excellent educational support.

The only hope for the differently abled is through accessible education and skill-building. We have sponsored the Asha Jyothi Handicapped Welfare Society’s educational initiatives at Hanuman Junction.

The Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a result-oriented therapy for kids affected by Autism/ADHD/Dyslexic disorders, but not every parent can afford it. Our foundation has done its part for the “Deevena Special Education Society” dedicated to it.

We made a student’s dream of getting education from one of the best schools in Hyderabad come true.

The foundation sponsored the annual college fees for about half a dozen of tomorrow’s rockstars in various engineering disciplines such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
We have tapped every opportunity to foster our endeavor to fulfill educational causes.

FOOD

First and foremost, people struggling to make ends meet require nourishment to lead healthy lives. Both in terms of financial aid and volunteering, we have assisted them with a loving heart.

We have donated to the “Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam” program run by the leading pilgrimage management organization, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Our scriptures say donating food (Annaprasadam) is gifting a life (Pranadanam). Well, we started doing it and will continue.

To support a family’s challenging times, we donated their monthly groceries. While the groceries may have perished, the family carries a remarkable memory of the aid they received from us.

Employees from a company associated with Pennam Foundation, Kairos Technologies, have volunteered to hygienically pack 6500 meals and make them reach the less-fortunate section of the community via North Texas Food Bank (NTFB).
As you know, before attaining Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha, a human being needs food. We empathized with all the food related causes that have come our way.

MEDICAL

On the medical assistance front, we have met the healing needs of four individuals.

The increasing cost of healthcare is a problem we cannot solve by ourselves, but we are honestly in support of emergency causes as well as any initiatives other organizations take (such as running medical campaigns).

NATURE

We are sure you have witnessed campaigns such as “Rally for Rivers” and “Save Soil.” We are very much inclined to be a part of any activity, big or small, that protects our nature and yields fruits for us and the next generation.

We are proud to say that Pennam Foundation has fulfilled a noble cause that harvests organic vegetables from an unutilized land of soil spanning 7 acres! The donation is in the form of all the materials (like seeds and tools) that make the plantation self-sustainable. You will see the greenery and its yield in our social handles soon. You are welcome to contribute for the next season.

AND… AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

We have contributed to the Women Welfare program run by a very energetic and dedicated organization for the humankind, SaveTheChild.

We continue to fund the expenses of Netra Vidyalaya, a school (actually a home) for the blind kids who read with their fingers and can see the stars far better. This is always an ongoing cause at our foundation, and you can fulfill your bit when you wish.
To save your reading time, we stop the list here. As we mark this historical moment, we have fulfilled several causes to make a positive difference. We could not have done it without the support of our donors and volunteers. We appreciate all of you who have participated in the foundation’s activities and helped us make this world a better place. Thank you for being with us on this journey.

As the saga continues for the months and years to come, our foundation is determined to be a more responsible contributor to society.

****** Wait a minute. Did you know? ******

Pennam Foundation is a free platform. When we run a fundraiser for any cause, there is no cut towards the overheads we incur from the collections. 100% transparency is our foundational principle.

Pennam Foundation is registered under section 80G of India’s Income Tax Act, 1961. Therefore, you can deduct half of your donation through your tax return.
