It’s that time of the year again. Prevention of Blindness Week 2023 is upon us, and we’re ready to shine a light on the issue of blindness. From April 1st to April 7th, we’re making noise about the causes and prevention of blindness. Let’s show love to those with visual impairments and ensure they can access the care they need. So, let’s get together, spread the word, and keep those peepers healthy!

The Nethra Vidyala in Vizag was founded by the compassionate His Holiness Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji in 2003. This school is a sanctuary for blind and visually impaired children. But there’s a hero among heroes, a savior among saviors – Sudhakar Pennam, the founder of the Pennam Foundation. Since 2014, he has been the backbone of the school, providing support and resources to ensure these kids receive the education and care they deserve. It all began with a simple idea – free medical camps and homeopathy medicine distribution in the school premises. Sudhakar Pennam, the founder of the Pennam Foundation, was determined to help those in need and bring some relief to their suffering. Their combined efforts successfully met major requirements, such as providing a Stainless-Steel railing along the parapet wall surrounding the Dining area, distribution of Braille script sheets, Sleeping mats, and Stationery items.

In addition, the Pennam Foundation has also helped ensure a 100% power supply to the school by donating UPS. This has made a tremendous difference in the lives of the students, who now have uninterrupted access to learning resources and technology.
